INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROGRAM

SCHOOL HISTORY:
The international student program at Portland Christian Schools began in 1986. The program has developed over the years as a leading international student program among national high schools. The program places a strong emphasis on English as a second language, academics, college preparedness and the transition of students from ESL courses to mainstream courses. International student's living accommodations are met with a host family program comprised of a diverse group of Christian families.

INTERNATIONAL ADMISSION CRITERIA:
Portland Christian High School is accepting applications from high school age students, grade 9-12, who are interested in pursuing a university education and learning about the Christian faith and lifestyle or who acknowledge Christianity as their faith. While most students plan to study until graduation, students wishing to study for only one year are welcome.

Students will be granted admission based on their academic history, recommendations and student questionnaire answers. Applicants who have been selected for admission will be provided the I-20 immigration document. This will allow the student to apply for an F-1 student visa.

Tuition may be paid in its entirety before the first day of classes, or it may be paid in two equal installments with the fall term tuition paid on or before August 15th and the spring term tuition paid on January 15th. Students are NOT allowed to begin classes in any term in which their tuition is not yet paid. Once the student has entered their first day of class, tuition for that term is NON-REFUNDABLE.

Each student is required to live with a local family. International students who are not living with their biological families are placed with Christian host families who are screened and approved by the school.
