Throwback to Radio Dramas

November 4, 2020

Radio plays used to be a popular form of entertainment in the early 1900s when families gathered around the radio to get the latest news.

The PCS Drama Department students have been practicing remotely this fall and are very excited to present nine classic radio plays.

The dramas will "air" November 13, 20, 27 and December 4.  The recordings will be available at 7:00 pm each Friday.

The kick-off recording begins November 13 with Agatha Christie’s “Poirot: The Case of the Careless Client” and “Hall of Fantasy: The Shadow People.”

On November 20, enjoy “Little Orphan Annie: Annie’s Big Surprise Party”, “The Lone Ranger Episode #1”, and finally “Gangbusters: The Eddie Doll Case.”

Tune in on November 27 for “The Canterville Ghost” and “Suspense: Cabin B-13.”

Finally on December 4, grab a hot drink, cozy up with a blanket and listen to “Grand Marquee: Haunt Me A House” and “The Scrap of Lace.”

Most of the plays are family friendly, though we encourage families to listen together so that parents can explain old fashioned words and ideas to young children.

The radio plays are free and accessible via the PC Arts Overview page.

Join us as we present these classic tales to you and your loved ones!
