PCS's New Strength and Conditioning Program

As promised, PCS now offers strength and conditioning with Coach Kanoa Hironaka as a complement to our skills program for high school student-athletes. The hiatus in competition seasons, in keeping with OHA (Oregon Health Authority) and OSAA (Oregon School Activities Association) Covid-19 guidelines, is far from time wasted!

Athletes have the opportunity to meet with Kanoa Hironaka for training sessions two to three times a week, within their grade-level cohorts. In addition, athletes have also had the opportunity to train with head and assistant varsity coaches on our track, on our fields, and in our gyms for drills and skill development. High school athletes have trained this fall in basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball/softball, and track & field. 

Junior high level athletes have also had the opportunity to meet with sport-specific coaches for training and drills.

All sessions adhere strictly to OHA guidelines for health and safety. Athletes interact only with other students within their grade-level cohorts. All students are screened prior to participating, athletes and coaches wear appropriate face coverings, and all participants maintain social distancing when possible.
