Join us for OPEN HOUSE!
Portland Christian may be a good fit for your family. Come to our Open House on January 29 and check us out so you can decide for yourself! Both our ECE/Elementary and Jr/Sr High campuses will be open from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, but if you REGISTER ahead of time and tell us a little about yourself, we’ll be able to have information ready for you that addresses your specific interests. All families who PRE-REGISTER will automatically be entered in the Application Fee drawing (see below).
Who Should Attend
All family members who are involved in making important education decisions for the children would benefit from attending the Open House. Students of any age are welcome and may enjoy the opportunity to see the school for themselves .
Registration and Application Fee Drawing
If you haven’t pre-registered please register when you arrive at the Open House. Providing some basic information about your family’s interests and an email address will allow us to share information about events that may interest you as well as send you reminders of upcoming deadlines that you won’t want to miss. All registrations will be entered into a drawing to waive the application fee for one student – a $150 value (one winner at each campus). Enjoy some refreshments and meet some staff members and current students while you check in.
Campus Tour
Take a tour of our campuses to see how classrooms and labs are set up, where athletes practice, where artists create, and the spaces where students eat, play, and study. While on your tour, take the opportunity to ask the students questions about their PC experience, and to interact with staff and parents of current students. If your family includes students of both Elementary and Jr/Sr HS age, you will want to visit both of our campuses (about a mile apart).
Education Previews at the Jr/Sr HS Campus
Learn about our Jr High and High School programs. The Previews will meet in the Library and will include an overview of our programs with our Dean of Students and faculty who teach in the programs.
6:00 Jr High Preview – for PCS families whose students will enter 6th grade and for families whose students who are new to PCS and will enter the 6th, 7th or 8th grade
7:00 High School Preview – for PCS families whose students will enter 9th grade and for families whose students are new to PCS and will enter the 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade
Education Fairs
Stop by the PCS Education Fair at both campuses to gather information about your areas of interest. Visit with our staff to learn how we will support your student. Visit with representatives showcasing:
- Academic departments
- College readiness (Jr/Sr HS) and student support
- Athletic programs
- Involvement opportunities for parents
- After school programs and clubs
- Campus ministries / missions / character development programs
- Financial aid and tuition
- Admissions
Schedule an Educational Consultation with the Principal
Visit the Admissions table at the Education Fair to schedule an Education Consultation with the Principal to discuss your child’s individual education goals and needs. You may also schedule a Shadow Day for your student to experience the campus on a regular school day.
