Jr High School (6th - 8th grades)

Jr High Sports at PCS

6th - 8th Grade Girls
  • Players learn the fundamentals of the game with an emphasis on team spirit and sportsmanship.
  • Practices are held during the week at Portland Christian Schools.
  • Games are held on weekdays, with potential Saturday competition. 
  • Fee: $200*

  • Teams participate in the Metro Christian League as a coed program and are made up of different grade levels.
  • Practices and games are held throughout the week at Portland Christian Schools.
  • Fee: $200*

6th - 8th Grade Girls
  • Practices are held at PCS Jr/Sr High School four nights a week, with games on weeknights.
  • Games are held throughout the Portland-metro area at other small Christian schools within the Metro Christian League.  
  • Athletes are placed on A and B teams based on the athletes' skill levels.
  • Fee: $200*

Track & Field
6th - 8th Grade Co-ed
  • Practices are held four days a week at Portland Christian Jr/Sr High School.
  • Students participate in one meet a week either at Portland Christian or at a school located in the Portland-metro area.
  • Fee: $200*

7th - 8th Grade Boys
  • Practices are held at Portland Christian Jr/Sr High School depending on availability.
  • Games are held 1-2 times a week.
  • Fee: $200*
  • Register on-line
*A family cap of $1,000 for grades 6 -12 applies to sports fee (excluding CYO, JBO).

Participation requirements

Junior High athletes must complete the following requirements prior to beginning practice for any sports teams.  
  • Register on-line (see above) to be officially added to a team roster.

  • You must have a current physical exam report on file.  

  • Download the Physical Examination form (below) and ask your medical provider to complete and sign the exam.  Submit a hard copy to your campus office. This form is valid for two years.

  • Pay your PCS sports fees with a credit card at the campus office or by check made out to PCS and delivered to the school office or mailed to:12425 NE San Rafael St., Portland OR 97230.  

  • Fees must be paid in full before the first day of practice.

  • Parents of athletes are expected to support the athletics department by volunteering either during their own athlete’s season or in an off-season to avoid missing their own athlete’s contests.

  • Student athletes are expected to maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA. A student who is on academic or behavioral probation may not compete. Further restrictions may apply.
