Portland Christian Schools offers several merit-based scholarships for new and continuing students. Thanks to the generosity of the Oregon Community Foundation - Joseph E. Weston Foundation, we are also able to offer needs-based scholarships for students entering the sixth and seventh grades. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE NO LONGER BEING ACCEPTED FOR THE 2018-19 ACADEMIC YEAR.
Scholarship applications open on March 1, 2018.
All scholarship materials must be received in the PCS Business Office by 4:00 pm on April 2, 2018.
Applicants will be notified of awards April 30, 2018.
Scholarships will be awarded only to students who have applied for admission or are currently enrolled at Portland Christian Schools.
Scholarship funds awarded may be used only towards tuition.
Scholarship funds will be applied only after a thank you letter from the student to the donor has been received in the PCS Business Office. PCS will forward the letter as appropriate. If a thank you letter is not received within two weeks of the recipient receiving notice of the award, the funds will be released for another use and will no longer be available for the original applicant.
A student / family may apply for multiple scholarships. Multiple scholarships may be awarded to a single family based on administrative discretion.
A family may apply for scholarships and financial aid in the same year.
Recipients may apply for scholarships in subsequent years; there is no restriction on applying for or receiving scholarships in successive years.
School employees who receive a tuition discount, board members serving in the current academic year, and their immediate families, do not qualify for scholarship awards.
No parent, grandparent, legal guardian, or other family member of any individual who applies for a scholarship may serve on the decision committee for that particular scholarship.
Decision committee members shall remain anonymous.
The identity of applicants shall be withheld from decision committee members during the decision-making process.
PCS Scholarship funds will be allocated over the course of the selected payment plan. If the student’s attendance terminates during the school year, the scholarship funds shall be prorated for the time attended. Other rules may apply for recipients of the Weston Scholarship.
Both the student and their parent / guardian must agree to the terms of the scholarship award, as stated on the scholarship application.
