PCS has implemented COVID precautions because we truly love our students and staff. Because we love them, we accept the responsibility of doing what we can to keep them and their families safe and healthy while also working to fulfill our mission of “educating students in the truth of God’s word.” In keeping with scriptural admonitions to submit to those in authority and to pray for them, PCS complies with government mandates and follows health authority guidelines, while doing all we can to deliver quality Christian education to our students. And we pray.
All K-12 schools in Oregon, including private schools, fall under the “Ready Schools, Safe Learners” (RSSL) guidance published by the Oregon Department of Education and the Oregon Health Authority. The guidance documents have undergone many revisions since July. See the current version of the RSSL guidance.
As a licensed Emergency Child Care provider, Portland Christian’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) program complies with the “Health and Safety Guidelines for Child Care and Early Education Operating During COVID-19,” published by the Oregon Department of Education Early Learning Division and the Oregon Health Authority.
Numerous and frequent changes continue to occur over the course of this pandemic. PCS makes every effort to keep our families fully informed. Read Superintendent Rhonda Rogers's COVID-19 Updates.
