All junior high classes are taught intentionally to serve as the foundation to what will continue in the upper grades in high school.
The core subjects include:
- Bible
- English
- Science
- Math
- Social Studies
Junior high students are allowed to progress at a pace that is fitting to their ability in their math class. Students may take high school level math courses if this matches their aptitude.
The elective course offerings help prepare the junior high students for high school and beyond. Electives do not provide in-depth coverage of a single subject matter, but are designed as exploratory classes to gain “hands-on” experience. Electives options include:
- Art
- Choir
- Computer Science, Coding and Digital Media
- Concert Band
- Drama
- Languages (Spanish)
- Physical Education
- Yearbook/Photography
Junior high students's daily schedule:
- Follow a seven period day
- Added recess breaks
- Lunch on their own schedule apart from the high school students
- Advisory period occurs once a week in the school schedule where students spend this time with their homeroom teachers focusing on organizational and study skills, as well as citizenship and community building concepts
