Love God, Love People
Alumni Guest Speaker: Hannah Griffith ’24
October 14, 2025
Today in middle & high school chapel, Portland Christian alumna Hannah Griffith ’24 shared about her recent medical missions trip to Honduras. The theme of her message was “Love God and love people.” She spoke about serving in a world that is broken and in need of healing—both spiritually and physically—and reminded students that every person has value because they are “made in the image of God.”

Hannah shared about her journey: “When God gives you a push, you go.” Now a student at Corban University studying kinesiology, she combined her passion for God and her medical studies on this trip. The team rode in the back of trucks for up to three hours on unpaved roads to rural areas, meeting people who had walked for hours to receive medical care. The team triaged patients while set up in schools and churches, offering general medical, dental, pharmacy, and vision services. Basic healthcare needs were met, and the team was also able to share the love of Jesus and remind people of their inherent value as God’s image-bearers.

Hannah’s story illustrates how her education at Portland Christian helped prepare her to make an impact for Christ. Through her years at PC, she was equipped with a strong foundation of faith, a love for learning, and the confidence to step into challenging situations—skills that allowed her to combine her medical knowledge with her passion for serving others on her mission trip to Honduras.
Hannah encouraged PC students that “we are all called to go and make disciples regardless of what we’re studying in life.” She reminded us to remember that “ministry majors are not the only people called to missions—missions are for everyone.”
When asked how Portland Christian shaped her journey, Hannah said, “I went to PC from preschool all the way until I graduated, and it [gave me] a comfortable feeling of being at home. Now I go to Corban University, which is a smaller private school like PC. PC shaped my faith growing up—every class is a faith-based experience.”
Her advice to current students? “Get involved. Go to everything you can. Even though it’s a smaller school, I always had a blast at all the events, games, and dances. Having a smaller school experience is a big blessing that a lot of people overlook.”
We are proud of Hannah and the way she is using her faith, education, and talents to serve others. Portland Christian wishes her the very best as she continues her studies at Corban University and pursues opportunities to impact the world for Christ.
