“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." ~ John 13:35
Growing Leaders and Growing Disciples – what do these mean at Portland Christian? Leadership is not only about positions, titles, power, influence, and authority. True leadership is also about service, integrity, humility, courage, and love for one another.
For Christians, it starts with living our lives as followers of Jesus Christ. PCS programs such as Peer Ministry, Digital Discipleship, Serve Day, and Chapel intentionally teach students about these qualities. However, it is by engaging in the day-to-day activities of homework, sports, the arts, clubs, service projects, and even just hanging out with friends, that students put into practice what it truly means to be a disciple who leads by example.
23 PCS students lit candles during the 2019 National Honor Society induction ceremony, signifying the NHS values they will uphold and their commitment to helping the community and the people around them.

“Leadership at this school is effective because they are involved, because they care, because this is a safe school, and they trust in the Lord.” ~ a PCS parent
“We are consistently impressed with everything about this school. There is a strong academic and social/emotional curriculum, a friendly community, support for learning … and the staff is an excellent model of Christ’s love. There’s no better place to be than PCS!” ~ a PCS parent
