News - Portland Christian Schools

The paper’s first issue contains a Bible verse, two stories with photos by each of the writers, a calendar of events, and a cartoon strip. The plan is to publish something every two weeks. The students are already working on their stories and cartoons. As teacher and editor, Mrs. Gentry describes the students as very responsive to her editing and suggestions. No stranger to the business of publishing, Mrs. Gentry has had 12 years working in the newspaper world as reporter, editor and photographer (Gresham Outlook, East Oregonian in Pendleton, Ketchikan Daily News in Alaska, and the Seaside Signal). The newspaper is offered digitally on Google Classroom to the middle school students, or as a hard copy in the school office. We look forward to many more issues throughout this school year.
