HS English Class

Academic Support (6-12)

Intellectual, spiritual, and emotional growth is a key part of every student’s experience at PCS. The Department of Academic Advising and Student Support Services not only provides academic counseling but also fosters a welcoming environment where students feel supported and valued. Our offices at both the Elementary and Middle & High School campuses are open to all students.

Understanding that students have different academic needs that may not always be met in the classroom, PCS offers a variety of support and after-school options. These resources are available to students without appointments or additional fees.

Elementary School

Please ask your student’s teacher for academic support options.

Middle & High School

Tutoring

Sports practices are scheduled to start at 4:00 pm to allow time for student-athletes to meet with teachers after school.

Students are encouraged to seek extra academic support through teacher tutoring. Tutoring is available after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays until 4:00 pm, or at other times by appointment. This time should be planned collaboratively by the teacher, student, and parent. It can be used for homework, test make-ups, paper reviews and edits, large projects, vocabulary or concept review, organization, reading, or any other academic needs. Teachers may require a student to attend if they are falling behind in class.

Library

The school library is open and staffed daily from 3:20–4:00 pm, providing students with a quiet space to study and complete homework.

Student Lounge

The Student Lounge is open after school, providing another space for study and doing homework. The Student Lounge also includes supervised recreation opportunities such as board games and ping pong tables, and the Student Store has snacks available for purchase.
