October's Jog-A-Thon Declared A Great Success

Every year the hope is to hold the Jog-A-Thon outside. This year although clouds were surrounding us, we relied heavily on weather forecasting technology, and decided to go outside. While it was a little chilly at first, the clouds soon cleared and it turned out to be a great day outside!

Kids ran – some as hard and as fast as they could. Others walked their laps with their teachers. We even had a staff member earn pledges and run to support our school. Family volunteers – parents, grandparents, siblings - tracked their laps on the tags attached to the back of the students’ t-shirts.

This fundraiser, run by the Parent Committee, is an essential event for the ECE/Elementary School community.  It actually starts well before THE DAY. Students begin collecting pledges from family and friends to support our school.

As of mid-November, nearly $18,000 in pledges have been collected! Thank you to everyone who helped contribute both their resources and time to make this a great event.

The Parent Committee has not yet determined how the funds raised this year will be allocated to benefit our preschool and elementary students. So do come to the next Parent Committee meeting and join the discussion!  All ECE and elementary parents are part of the Parent Committee and are welcome at the meetings.

Thank you to all our volunteers, staff, and students who are an integral part of making our school a loving and Christ-like place to be!
