Harvard Law

Spring 2017

Rose Schaefer (2013)

The PCS Alumni Department is excited to share that Rose Schaefer, class of 2013, has just been accepted to grad school at Harvard Law School for fall 2017!  Laurel Tolleson, her 11th grade Honors English teacher recalls that “Rose has a flair for words. Her sharp insights made her an inquisitive English student who challenged conventional thought and honed her writing to a finely focused point.”  Put succinctly by another teacher, Connie Licata, “Rose was an exceptional student in high school.”

She also participated in several Jr/Sr High drama productions like the musical, Secret Garden, and the comedy, You Can’t Take It with You.

Rose will also be remembered as the Teen Jeopardy first runner-up finalist (second place - Season 28, 2012) who gave a shout-out to Jon Roberts, her AP US History teacher.  Her tenacity and determination are epitomized by Andrew Jannsen, “Rose was one of our top students in PC history excelling in every academic subject.  In math she challenged herself by taking AP Calculus thereby earning college credit with a top score on the AP test.  Rose used math to sharpen her logic, reasoning, and analytical thinking even though math was not an area of particular interest to her.”

After PCS, Rose went on to attend Oklahoma Christian University on a full National Merit Scholarship.
