The 2023 High School Art Show and Fine Art Awards took place in late May. Students, their families, and faculty celebrated the high school artists who have enriched the PC community with their expressions of creativity and imagination.
The evening began with an art show highlighting PC senior artists and the best work of their high school art studies. These seniors are: Grace Allert, Isobel Espinor, Lara Gordon, Kevin Liu, Nguyen (Vicky) Pham, and Zitong Wang.
Additional seniors who were honored for their participation in fine arts are: Sarah Asaya, Jordan Curtis, Anna Humphrey, James Loffink, Conall McClelland and Leah Zallee.
Other high school visual artists displayed their work in the art show as well: Lulu Chinchilla, Samantha Fernandez, Gabriel Klinger, Rin Kobayashi, Sarai Llontop, William Loffink, Ava Lowe, Mazy McLaughlin, Nhi Nguyen, Olivia Setser, Jack Stevens, Olivia Wiggins, and Yuna Yamaguchi.
Student art cards and original artwork were sold and door prizes were given away to the winning ticket-holders. Proceeds from all sales benefited the PC National Art Honor Society.
The second half of the evening was an awards ceremony to recognize individual PC high school students’ active commitment to the arts, and to celebrate their growth and achievements. Fine Art teachers Mrs. Caldwell, Mrs. McLean, Mr. Ostrand, Mrs. Singleterry, and Mrs. Wetzler presented the awards. The Fine Arts Parent Committee was also recognized for their efforts.
