Why did you choose to work at Portland Christian? 

I believe strongly in Christian education and it was important to me. So with 4 kids and a desire to work in a Christian environment, it seemed a perfect fit.

What do you enjoy most about working at PCS?

The people I work with are what keeps me here. From students to parents and my coworkers, I am blessed to be around my PC family. I love encouraging and helping them and I am encouraged and helped by them.

Why did you choose your specific area of work?

My previous career gave me the experience to work in an office setting.

What’s the best thing about working with students?

I love watching them grow and mature over the years. I especially love watching hearts transformed as only Jesus can and seeing kids changed forever because of it.

What is your favorite part of the school day?

Lunch. I think kids are at their happiest and most excited when the get to eat and have a break. It is fun to interact with them during that time.

How have you experienced God at PCS?

I have seen such kindness, generosity and love for more people here than anywhere else in my life. It is amazing to watch God work through so many willing hands. If someone is in need in anyway, God puts someone in the community to help in some way. Every student and staff member is covered in prayer and it makes a huge difference in our daily lives.

Favorite scripture verse?

Philippians 4:6-7: "Be anxious about nothing but by all things through prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God. An the peace that passes all understanding will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus."

Tell us a little about your family, please!

I am a single mom of 4. Most of my kids are grown. I have 2 still in college and one is a sophomore here at PC.

What do you like to do in your free time? 

I love to read and hike.

What would the students be surprised to find out about you?

I was a bench top chemist for 13 years and I have a blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do.

Anything else you would like to share? 

I love what PC is doing. God is using it to change hearts, minds and lives. I know because I have seen it in the hearts of my children as well as my own.
