Let the Celebration Continue for Portland Christian’s Music Program!
Mr. Ostrand, our beloved choir director, proudly shares exciting news, “The Portland Christian Concert Choir is one of only twelve 1A/2A schools to qualify for and compete in the 2025 Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) Choir State Championships!”
Following their championship win in 2024, this year’s choir continued to shine—especially in the sight-reading room, where they earned an impressive score of 53 out of 60. Their on-stage performance was equally powerful and inspiring.
“The students’ energy and engagement were among the highest I’ve experienced as a director,” said Mr. Ostrand. “I’m incredibly proud of the hard work they’ve put in and how beautifully it was showcased.”

The 2025 Concert Choir is made up of 23 students, including 9 first-year singers. Despite being the smallest ensemble among the top five finalists, Portland Christian brought home a 3rd place trophy!
For perspective:
- 1st Place: St. Stephens Academy – 42 singers
- 2nd Place: Trinity Lutheran (Bend) – 43 singers
- 3rd Place: Portland Christian – 23 singers
- 4th Place: North Clackamas – 36 singers
- 5th Place: Southwest Christian – 30 singers
This achievement speaks volumes about the dedication and talent of our students. With just 3–5 students often singing each part, every individual must be strong, confident, and musically independent.

Congratulations to our musicians!
