Why did you choose to work at Portland Christian?

Because I wanted to give back to the school that helped me become who I am today.

You're a PC alumni. Do you have a favorite teacher and / or memories from your time as a PC student? 

My favorite teacher was Mrs. Blair. She was my honors and AP English teacher. She taught me to fall in love with stories. My favorite memory is playing in the orchestra for the spring musicals (I played in Aida and Seussical).
 

What do you enjoy most about teaching at Portland Christian?

I love my students!

Why did you choose your specific area of teaching?

I like working with the younger kiddos because they are so much fun and they have the best things to say :)

What’s the best thing about being a teacher / working with students?

Helping students understand that they can always try and that it is okay to make mistakes that will help them learn.

What is your favorite part of the school day?

Reading stories at circle time.

How have you experienced God in teaching at PCS?

I have experienced God by seeing how much joy my students have when they are learning about Him.

Tell us a little about your family, please!

My mom's name is Tamara and she has two cats named Erebus and Nox. My Dad's name is Dwayne and my stepmom's name is Shacrea. They have two dogs named Basil and Rosemary.

What do you like to do in your free time? 

I really love to read and do something artsy.

What would the students be surprised to find out about you?

My students do not know that I really like scary movies and spicy food.
