Why did you choose to work at Portland Christian?

God brought me to PC and has kept me here.

What do you enjoy most about teaching at Portland Christian?

I love the community and I believe in our mission.

Why did you choose your specific area of teaching?

There was a need and I was equipped and called to fill that need.

What’s the best thing about being a teacher / working with students?

I thoroughly enjoy the relationships I get to build. I enjoy the fun we get to have together. I love the variety I get to enjoy in my work. I also really enjoy being able to dress up for spirit days.

What is your favorite part of the school day?

My favorite part is any point when students are excited about learning about or discussing something.

How have you experienced God teaching at PCS?

I have seen God provide miraculously and have had God speak to me through the classes I've taught.

Favorite scripture verse?

Luke 10:41-42

 And Jesus answered and said to her, ‘Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Tell us a little about your family, please!

My wife Amy is a kindergarten teacher [at PC]. We've been married since 2005. I have a Freshman daughter, Olivia who is involved in drama, volleyball, basketball, and track, and a 6th grade son, Jack who plays basketball and baseball.

What do you like to do in your free time? 

I enjoy reading, working in my yard, and everything related to basketball.

What would the students be surprised to find out about you?

Students might be surprised to learn that I have been stopped by police in two different countries and neither was the United States.

Anything else you would like to share? 

I feel blessed to have spent the last 20 years at PC and am thrilled to have my family at the school with me.
