PC ESports Teams Level Up

This spring, PC is proud to field two competitive Esports teams: a Varsity Team and a Junior Varsity Team! Both teams have made impressive strides—not only climbing the ranks across the Pacific Northwest Region but also growing closer through dedicated training, collaboration, and a shared passion for gaming.

Coach Mdm Stearns shares, “At the conclusion of the Varsity season, the team qualified for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate playoffs and finished 20th out of 75 teams in the region. The Junior Varsity season is still ongoing: the Mario Kart team is currently ranked 4th out of 23, and the two Super Smash Bros. JV teams are ranked 8th and 19th out of 51, respectively. Looking ahead, the teams are committed to building on their success—both in gameplay and team spirit. Some students aim to become Random Mains, mastering every character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, while others are memorizing every shortcut and optimizing their karts for Mario Kart. Several players are already making significant progress toward these ambitious goals and are excited to return for the Fall Season in September.”

Tenth grader Varsity player John Nguyen reflects, “It’s great to have Esports—it’s a new activity for people to try out and have something to do after school.” Junior Gonzalez, a 9th grader, adds, “It’s pretty cool to associate with other people and be social. The friends I’ve made here have even come to my house to play games!”
