PC Families, hope you are well! Below is a quick weekly update on each of our athletic groups along with contact information and team store information for each team. Winter registration is now open as well and we list below othe teams and staff for each of our groups. Look forward to Homecoming week next week where we get a chance to showcase all of our groups.
Athletic Release Schedules – I-5 Traffic
I just wanted to make everyone aware that everyone in Portland is still dealing with parts of I-5 closing down for the next four weeks. This could lead to some earlier release times for our athletes and we will make sure we do our best to have your kids to any away games on time, while communicating all release times. For Junior High parents transporting athletes to away games, we may adjust the release time for any 4 pm game as well so be prepared for this moving forward.
High School Volleyball
The girls’ are finally getting healthy and have run off four straight wins, including a 3-0 start in league play. After a long Saturday at the St. Paul Tournament last weekend, the Royals knocked off North Clackamas and Mannahouse this week to stand alone in first place right now in the Metro East League. PC will host SW Christian on Tuesday next week before the big Homecoming game on Friday against Riverside.

High School Boys Soccer
The boys’ picked up their first win over then #3 ranked Faith Bible last Friday, 2-0, behind two goals from Carson Bautista and a great effort from David Horgos in goal. The Royals came back home and faced #6 3A ranked Blanchet on Monday and ended up dropping a 2-0 decision there. The Umpqua game was canceled on Thursday, but the Royals start league play next week with three games starting Monday vs. Damascus, Wednesday at SW Christian and Friday in the Homecoming game against rival Columbia Christian. High School Cross Country
Cross Country had another great week with the Jewell Jaunt on Wednesday at Jewell Middle School. Ava Smith took second in the girl’s race with a 23:33 5K time, while Finley Downing and Saskia Esselink took 14th and 15th with times of 31:03 and 31:04. The boys’ team ended up winning the meet with Iliya Demchenko finishing second with a 5K time of 18:57. PC then finished 8th-11th with Marlon Redifer, Isaac Schroder, Aidan Le and Aedan Gentry all finishing strong to help the Royals with the big win. PC will travel to Stayton next week on Thursday as they prep for districts in late October.

High School Girls Soccer
The girls’ team had just the one game last week, taking on the Molalla JV team on Tuesday, dropping a 8-2 decision here at PC. Emma Fitch had two goals for the Lady Royals. PC will take on Corbett on Tuesday next week before the big Homecoming game with De La Salle on Friday here at PC.

Middle School Sports
MS Volleyball: The 6th grade group dropped a 2-1 decision at Meadow Glade on Monday before taking down PAES, 2-1 on Tuesday and then Hoodview, 3-0 on Wednesday. The 7/8 Gold team dropped a 2-1 decision to Meadow Glade on Monday before coming back with a 2-1 win at Hoodview on Wednesday. And the 7/8 Purple team Knocked off Columbia Christian, 2-1, here at PC on Wednesday in their only match of the week.
MS Boys Soccer: MS Purple team won both of their games this week with a 8-0 win over Grace Lutheran on Monday and a 3-1 win at Portland Adventist Thursday. The PC White team lost 4-0 at Columbia on Monday before dropping a heartbreaker to Firm Foundation, 3-2, here at PC on Thursday.
MS Girls Soccer: Our new girls’ team picked up their first win last weekend with an 8-4 win last weekend at Parkrose Middle School. Tied 3-3 at the half, the Royals erupted with five goals in the second half to take their first win of the season. Emrie Thompson and Omni Cosgrove had three goals apiece, while Cielle S and Qaya B had one apiece.
Booster Club
Just another quick reminder to those interested in helping with the Portland Christian Booster Club. The help is needed, and parents interested can reach out to new President, Jocelyn Thurber at jocelyn_thurber@msn.com. The Booster Club has been instrumental in funding athletic needs which we’ve included below. We meet once a month, through Zoom or in-person, provide concession help during all indoor and outdoor activities here at PC, and help with the Athletic Sports Awards at the end of the school year. Let us know if you can help as we are always in need of extra bodies.

8. New Scorers Table (coming soon) for Volleyball and Basketball
9. New PC Branded Tents for Cross Country, Track and Soccer.
Winter Sport Registration
Winter Sport Registration is now Open! Below is the link to the registration site, along with directions, and make sure you don’t forget about your physical if you haven’t done this in the last two years. Coaching positions are being filled and below is a list of coaches who have already committed.

Online Registration System and Physicals
Winter Sport Registration is open, and our online system (Arbiter) remains intact for the 2026-27 school year. Registration information is included below. For returning users, you will need to remember your Username and Password, and the player information should be saved from last year.
For those new to the online registration process, all athletic registration and payment are done through the online registration system (link is included below). We require online registration and information for all of our athletes, and we require an up-to-date physical for each athlete, which is done every two years and is something you can include when you register your athlete online. Without either one of these steps completed, athletes will not step on the practice field or court. We provide our coaches a list of cleared athletes each day.
