A Ramp and Swing Kinder Invention

After studying some simple machines, the kindergarteners learned about Rube Goldberg. They got to try out their own silly invention to do something simple using a ramp and swing. Goldberg's "name is an eponym for his famed “invention drawings,” designs of overly complicated machines: using things like pulleys, levers, birds, and rockets to fix simple problems like fishing an olive out of a tall jar, or remembering to mail a letter to your wife. Goldberg approached them as a tongue-in-cheek critique of the havoc wrought by industrialization and put forward the idea that technology, intended to simplify people’s lives could have the opposite effect."     The annual fall Jog-A-Thon Fundraiser involves the entire ECE & Elementary School and includes students, staff and family member volunteers. Sometimes the Jog-A-Thon is held in the gym, but if weather permits, it's outside!

  • Elementary art teacher puts together fence art pieces colored by elementary students. 3:56 PCS Elementary School Collaborative Fence Art Featured

    Every PCS elementary student had a little part in this collaborative art project. Designed by elementary art teacher Mrs. Nicole Curtis, each student was sent home a paint marker and a couple of aluminum squares to color with their own design. Watch how each piece added to the square finally shows off our students' collaborative artwork!

  • Each grade from preschool to 5th grade perform at the Pastor Appreciation Chapel 5:19 Pastor Appreciation Chapel - Jesus is Our Foundation Featured

    Every grade from preschool to 5th grade presented at our October 21, 2022 chapel. Visiting pastors and youth directors enjoyed a breakfast, learned about our school, watched our ECE and elementary students perform. And lastly, student prayer warriors prayed for each of them.

  • 7:56 PCS Elementary School 2020 End of Year Parade Featured

    Even though our elementary students may have seen their teachers in Zoom classroom sessions, face-to-face interactions are what we all crave. PCS elementary teachers organized an end of the year parade for all students and classroom teachers to say goodbye in person. It was an opportunity for our students, families and teachers to celebrate finishing the year strong together and completing distance learning. The parade started in the school circle drive, through the school parking lot, and then a block away through a church parking lot and down to a public elementary school parking lot.

    The message was united between families and teachers: "thank you, thank you, thank you, we love our teachers, we love our students, and have a good summer!"
