Alumni Employee Focus
Lisa (Roberts) Singleterry, Class of 1997
If there’s one person who truly bridges both Portland Christian campuses, it’s Lisa (Roberts) Singleterry. A proud PC alum from the Class of 1997, Lisa has been part of the Portland Christian family since 7th grade – first as a student, now as a dedicated teacher, (formerly a coach too) and parent.
Favorite Memories as a Student
“I loved playing on all the many sports teams, especially volleyball. We would sing worship songs in the locker room – the acoustics were amazing!
I also loved getting to go to France and Spain over spring break my senior year. I was the only Spanish student, so I had to interpret for everyone when we were in Spain.”
Favorite PC Teachers
“Definitely Dan Beaumont and Carolyn Dowd.
Dan was so great at making the Bible applicable to everyday life and taught with humor.
Carolyn was very gifted at making literature come to life. She left us way too soon and is still missed.”

Life After Graduation
After graduating, Lisa attended George Fox University, majoring in music. She began working at PC shortly after graduation and later earned her master’s degree from Multnomah University – while pregnant with her second child!
Current Role at PC
- Elementary Music & Band Teacher
- Elementary Chapel Coordinator
- Elementary Specialist Department Head
- High School Theater Teacher
- High School Drama Department producer and director for fall plays & spring musicals
- High School Thespian Society Advisor
Her days begin at the Middle/High School campus for the Zero Period Theater class, then continue at the elementary campus. During the fall drama and spring performance seasons, she’s right back at the MS/HS campus for after school rehearsals!

Returning to PC as an Educator
“I have loved working in the same school I attended. I particularly love teaching my own children and the kids of my fellow PC alumni.”
PC Family Connections
Her daughter, Melody, graduated in 2025 and is currently attending George Fox University. Tirzah, her youngest, is a junior at PC. Lisa’s brother Jon graduated in 1994 and taught at PC for many years. He was known to students as “JRob.”
Lisa’s heart for Portland Christian shines through everything she does – from early morning theater classes to supporting PC athletics (especially volleyball!). She’s in the throes of this year’s HS fall drama production, set to perform between November 21 and 23. Find information about the play in PC’s FB events. We’re so thankful for her dedication, creativity, and lasting impact on generations of Royals! 💜
